Photography as Art

In recent years, I have noticed that many newspapers and magazines have started offering their readers photo sections. Presumably following the old addage that a picture paints a thousand words. Sadly, most of these photo sections relate to current news showing war, chaos and disaster, or readers photos of kittens, dogs, and other trivia, to aleviate the angst of the current news photos.

Occasionally, however, there are award winning photos shown that I like, or just photos that take my fancy. Below are ones that I have collected over the last couple of years.
